چکیده

Title Genechip # Type of data (time series etc) 1. Succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency effect on the brain Affymetrix GeneChip Murine Genome U74 Version 2 Set MG-U74A 18 Analysis of brain hippocampi, cerebella, and cortices of succinate semialdehyde dehydrogenase (SSADH)-deficient mutants at 3 weeks of age, when fatal seizures occur. Results indicate that SSADH deficiency results in the dysregulation of genes involved in myelin structure and compaction. 2. Kainate-induced status epilepticus effect on immature hippocampus: time course Affymetrix GeneChip Rat Genome U34 Array Set RGU34A 60 Analysis of hippocampi of immature animals up to 10 days following kainite (KA) induced status epilepticus (SE). Unlike adults, KA-induced SE in immature animals causes neither cell death nor recurrent spontaneous seizures. Results provide insight into the molecular basis of this difference.

Classification of fMRI patterns--a study of the language network segregation in pediatric localization related epilepsy.

This article describes a pattern classification algorithm for pediatric epilepsy using fMRI language-related activation maps. 122 fMRI datasets from a control group (64) and localization related epilepsy patients (58) provided by five children's hospitals were used. Each subject performed an auditory description decision task. Using the artificial data as training data, incremental Principal Co...

Evaluation of methods to detect interhemispheric asymmetry on cerebral perfusion SPECT: application to epilepsy.

UNLABELLED Detecting perfusion interhemispheric asymmetry in neurologic nuclear medicine imaging is an interesting approach to epilepsy. METHODS This study compared 4 methods that detect interhemispheric asymmetries of brain perfusion in SPECT. The first (M1) was conventional side-by-side expert-based visual interpretation of SPECT. The second (M2) was visual interpretation assisted by an int...

Support vector machines for seizure detection in an animal model of chronic epilepsy.

We compare the performance of three support vector machine (SVM) types: weighted SVM, one-class SVM and support vector data description (SVDD) for the application of seizure detection in an animal model of chronic epilepsy. Large EEG datasets (273 h and 91 h respectively, with a sampling rate of 1 kHz) from two groups of rats with chronic epilepsy were used in this study. For each of these EEG ...

A Brief Overview of Epilepsy with Emphasis on Children

Epilepsy is a brain disorder in which a person has repeated seizures over time. A seizure is a sudden change in the electrical and chemical activity in the brain. A single seizure that does not happen again is NOT epilepsy. Most children with epilepsy live a normal life. Certain types of childhood epilepsy go away or improve with age, usually in the late teens or 20s. Nearly 80% of people with ...

A Pre-Trained Ensemble Model for Breast Cancer Grade Detection Based on Small Datasets

Background and Purpose: Nowadays, breast cancer is reported as one of the most common cancers amongst women. Early detection of the cancer type is essential to aid in informing subsequent treatments. The newest proposed breast cancer detectors are based on deep learning. Most of these works focus on large-datasets and are not developed for small datasets. Although the large datasets might lead ...

Using spatiotemporally distributed patterns of intracranial encephalographic activity to classify previously encountered versus novel stimuli

Intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) is a neuroscience technique in which electrical recordings are made from electrodes making direct contact with the human brain. While patients with intractable epilepsy are being recorded with pre-operative iEEG, they can opt to participate in cognitive research tasks, thus giving cognitive neuroscientists access to unique and spatiotemporally rich dat...
